Congratulations to the two Wye Tennis girls team who competed in the Kent winter league finals . The under 12s team played some great tennis but unfortunately lost to a very strong Sevenoaks side. Great job Aimee , Lucy and Jess for and giving your all !
The under 16 team won the Kent winter league for the 3rd year in a row !! They beat a strong Meopham team in the deciding doubles match! Great job Francesca , Savannah and Rebecca! Amazing achievement to have won 3 times !

Congratulations to Olivia Phillips for winning the Canterbury Autumn open under 14s girls singles today ! Olivia won the final 5-3 4-1 playing some fantastic tennis!
Well done to Lucy Jamieson for finishing 3rd and to Jessica and Charlie who also competed in lots of long and tough matches .

Congratulations to Lucy Jamieson and Aimee Manktelow who competed in the Canterbury club championship 10 & under girls competition. These two best friends train and compete against each other all the time and yet again had another very close match . The winner was Lucy who won in a final set tiebreak 10-6!

Yesterday we hosted the finals of the Ashford and District tournament. Competitions were run at Faversham , Hythe , Bethersden and Wye. Wye tennis club had lots of players taking part in all the different tournaments .
In the 9 & under Alwin Shinu came runner up losing in a close final.
The under 10s finals had all Wye tennis players in them with Aimee Manktelow taking on Lucy Jamieson and Charlie Phillips taking on Myles Smith. Both finals were fantastic with all 4 player…s competing well. Lucy Jamieson just beat Aimee 4-2 5-4 in a very close match. Charlie phillips won the boys final 4-1 4-1. Great job you 4!
In the under 14 boys Joesph Tuohy came runner up to a player from Faversham .
In under 16 girls Olivia Phillips narrowly lost to Harriet from Hythe tennis club 6-4 7-6. Olivia showed great fighting spirit by coming back from 5-2 down in final set to take it to a tiebreak but losing out to a very tricky opponent .
Well done to all the Wye players who competed over the weekend and well done to all the tennis clubs for putting on a great event!

Congratulations to Wye under 16 girls team for winning the Kent winter league championships. Beat Gravesham in the final 2-1. Well done to Francesca , Rebecca , Savannah and Olivia for representing the club in all the matches ! Wye have won the competition 2 years in a row ! Great job girls !

Congratulations to Lucy Jamieson for winning the Gravesham grade 4 9& under mixed tournament today! This is Lucy first ever grade 4 title win! Lucy won all her matches on the day. Lucy work rate over the past year has been incredibleand has grown so much as a player. Always looking to learn and improve! Great job lucy !

Congratulations to Savannah Harris and Francesca Lowe for winning the Kent winter league under 14 girls for Wye against West Heath A. Francesca won her match 4-0 4-1 with Savannah winning a tough match 4-1 4-1. They then won the doubles 4-0 4-0. Congratulations to Myles Smith for winning the very first Wye Tennis Club mini red championships! Myles played fantastic all day beating Lucy Jamieson 10 -3 in the final. Thanks to all 16 children and the volunteers for making such a great first tournament!

Canterbury East Kent clay court championship
Congratulations to Ellen Andrews who won the Canterbury East Kent clay court 9&under girls grade 4 championships . Ellen defeated Anya Carroll also from Wye in the final. Both girls won their groups defeating strong players from Deal, Canterbury and a girl from the Elana Baltacha academy in Ipswich. They both had tough semi final matches where Anya beat a very tricky Canterbury girl 7-3 7-3. Ellen had an extremely
Close match which was decided on a sudden death point to win 7-3 6-7 7-6 against the girl from the Baltacha academy. Both girls played great tennis in the final but Ellen came out on top 7-3 7-5. Both girls are on the scholarship scheme at the club and showed fantastic effort and skill during the day. On a final note Ellen as well as winning the competition also won the fair play award . Congratulations to Oliver Hayday for coming runner up in the deal county grade 4 9&under event. Ollie has worked really hard at his game recently and has come on a lot in the last few months. His hard work earned him a place on the Wye tennis club scholarship scheme . Ollie lost to a very hard working player in Ben from Canterbury who is the current 8&under county champion. Congratulations to Daniel Sussams and Louis Douse for coming runner ups in the Kent Mini League championships. Wye B team lost to a very strong Bexley team in the finals. Congratulations to Ollie Hanley for winning the under 14s Gravesham open yesterday! Ollie beat some very good players to win playing some incredible tennis. Ollie has been part of the clubs scholarship and has now started helping myself and Laurence with coaching. Great job Ollie. All the hard work with Laurence is paying off!
